Inside of Valley Regional Medical Center
We have all heard that hospital food reference. We hear that the food in the hospital is terrible, bland and definitely not appetizing. I am here to tell you that I recently ate at the Valley Regional Medical Center cafeteria in Brownsville, Texas and let me tell you I was thoroughly impressed at how fresh the vegetables were and how hot the food was.
I ordered a burger with wheat buns and it was incredible. The chef slapped it on the hot grill sizzling with onions and peppers. The buns were tossed on the grill as well and were nicely toasted with that hint of butter on top causing a nice shine. I reached over for a handful of fries to top it off and they were hot and crispy. Excellent. I noticed that the salad area had an assortment from which to choose and dressings readily available. The refrigerators were stock piled with drinks of all varieties and the desserts looked fresh. The coffee was hot and so was the cocoa.
As I headed out the door to find somewhere to sit I noticed that the seating area was packed, another sign of a good restaurant. Mind you, most patrons of that restaurant really do not have an option, seeing that they are there visiting a loved one that has been admitted to the hospital but they are served nice hot food when needed most.
All in all most hospital food is like I mentioned before bland in taste or not very appealing. The cafeteria at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas is the exception to the rule.
Good food , Great service, and Great hospitality.
Overall a great dining experience .
